Association for the Protection of Langwieder Heath
The aim of the “Association for the Protection of Langwieder Heath” was to achieve the protection of the last major steppe grass biotope in Munich’s west. Until the official certification of the protected area decided by the general meeting of the city council of Munich, the state capital, on 29 June 1992, it was necessary to avert a planned commercial area, a large flea market for 5 000 visitors and a large park and ride car park designed for 5 000 vehicles.
Permanently protected: rare animals and plants
